What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!

Speaker's Bio:
Aliya Ali, born and raised in Dubai, is a recent Neuroscience graduate from the University of Toronto Scarborough. She is a passionate advocate dedicated to solving problems, helping others, and driving meaningful change. Her journey began in high school when she joined ZNotes, a global initiative providing free, summarized notes for various curricula, helping thousands of students worldwide. Her academic excellence at high school earned her the the prestigious International Scholar Award ($180,000) at the University of Toronto and the UAE’s Golden Residency Visa (a 10 year self sponsored visa given to outstanding students).
At UofT Scarborough, Aliya held multiple leadership roles, spearheading impactful projects such as the UTSC Bidet Installation Project, which improved campus inclusivity and hygiene for thousands of students and staff from diverse backgrounds. In her second year of university, she founded
Meds for Less, a startup providing affordable medications to uninsured populations in the UAE, winning several pitch competitions and gaining recognition as one of UofT’s top startup. Soon after graduating, she launched
Rate My Courses (
ratemycourses.org), a nonprofit platform for students to rate and review university courses.
Aliya’s leadership and entrepreneurial achievements have earned her several accolades, including the UofT Letter Award, 2 times Young Entrepreneurship Scholar, Immigrant Entrepreneur Award, and more. She has been featured in UofT News, invited to podcasts, and has her own social media platform where she inspires and empowers others.
In addition to all of her initiatives, Aliya is also a Junior Product Manager at PR Coach, a tech startup that supports immigrants like herself. Aliya is a trailblaizer committed to driving change in healthcare, education, and sustainability and creating a better world for all.
