What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections; and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $20 for each session they engage with!
What’s in this session:
To put their skills to the test, participants will have the opportunity to prepare for and participate in a pitch competition. This hands-on experience allows them to showcase their ideas and receive valuable feedback from judges and peers.
Speaker's Bio:
Emily Neil is a seasoned public relations professional with a decade of expertise in strategic communications across diverse sectors, including non-profits, crown corporations, public/private partnerships, and post-secondary institutions. A proud alumnus of the Mount Saint Vincent Public Relations program, Emily is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Administration at Dalhousie University.
In her role at Dal Innovates, she is a champion for bringing students into the world of entrepreneurship and innovation through the Collide and Lab2Market programs, and with many engaging workshops and events. During her time with Dal Innovates, she’s spent time on marketing, communications, and recruitment efforts while also contributing her skills to special projects such as the national Lab2Market network and Dalhousie Innovation Week.
Beyond her professional commitments, Emily embraces the rewarding roles of 'mom' to her curious three-year-old daughter and silly pug. Dedicated to community engagement, Emily volunteers with the IWK and extends her expertise to support a handful of freelance clients.
