What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections; and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!
What’s in this session:
In this interactive session, Nasil Nam shares their journey from arriving in Canada as an educator to becoming a serial entrepreneur. Drawing on personal experience, participants will explore practical strategies for business growth, including how to prioritize using OKRs, integrate AI tools to save time and improve quality, develop a strong money mindset and build confidence through small, tested projects. The workshop emphasizes consistency, lifelong learning and using both technology and personal discipline to achieve growth.

Nasil Nam is an innovation-driven leader with over a decade of experience in program development, commercialization, and entrepreneurial ecosystem building.
Her journey in entrepreneurship began with founding and managing her own businesses, where she honed her skills in strategic planning, business development, and community building. This experience laid the foundation for her work with Dalhousie University as the Associate Director of Start-ups & Commercialization. There, Nasil supported the national research commercialization program Lab2Market, its national expansion, and developed and led the regional innovation program Collide.
Nasil is also passionate about championing underrepresented voices in tech. As the Project Lead for the Propelling Women Tech Founders program at the Centre for Women in Business, she worked alongside emerging female entrepreneurs to provide mentorship, business advisories, and strategic growth planning, ensuring they have the resources and community to thrive.
She holds a Master of Education in Psychology and Leadership Studies from the University of Victoria. Her approach is rooted in collaboration, strategic execution and a deep commitment to building sustainable innovation ecosystems that drive economic growth and opportunity.
Whether it's leading national-scale initiatives or mentoring early-stage founders, Nasil is dedicated to creating pathways for innovation and amplifying the impact of Canadian research on the global stage.
