What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections; and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!
What’s in this session:
This session is about learning how to stop waiting for the “perfect” opportunity and start creating your own. Drawing from my journey of moving to Canada, teaching at UBC, working in consulting, launching LearnIt, building partnerships with schools and organizations across Ontario, and creating student experiences from the ground up, I’ll share practical lessons on how ideas become real when you take initiative.
Through a light, activity-based workshop, students will explore what it means to identify problems, build confidence, make the first move, and turn their interests into meaningful opportunities. We’ll talk about the early stages of entrepreneurship, including how to start before you feel fully ready, how to reach out to people, how to build momentum, and how to stay resilient when things do not go exactly as planned.
This session is designed to be inspiring, practical, and energizing for future entrepreneurs who are curious about building something of their own.
