Are you ready to dive into the Innovation Cup? Join us for a casual, drop-in networking event designed to bring students together across all faculties! Whether you already have a complete team or are an individual looking to join one, this event is the perfect place to connect with potential team members, share project ideas and expand your network.
What is the Innovation Cup?
The Innovation Cup is a 10-week competition where 10 student teams develop their business ideas. All Saint Mary’s students from all faculties are welcome. The winning team get $10,000 to use toward their business.
What to expect:
- A competition lasting for 10 weeks filled with a tremendous number of training and learning opportunities.
- Network and meet experts and local entrepreneurs in your area of interest.
- Weekly engagement activities led by the team at Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre.
- The chance to win $10,000 to develop your start-up idea.
- A potential opportunity for experiential learning with honorariums and funding opportunities
Eligibility:
- Must be a current (or registered for the 2026/2027 year) Saint Mary’s student from any faculty (Science, Arts or Commerce);
- Teams must comprise of 3 members, 1 each from the sciences, arts and commerce faculties;
- Your business idea must have a social impact component;
- Your business idea must not be older than 1 year and should not have more than $8,000 in prize money, funding or investment in total;
- You have not previously won the Innovation Cup
