The AI Playground Workshop Series gives Saint Mary’s University students opportunities to explore artificial intelligence through free, hands-on sessions led by industry professionals and AI experts.
Students will learn how to use emerging AI tools, build practical projects, strengthen their digital skills, and explore how AI can support their studies, careers, and entrepreneurial ideas. No previous AI experience is required for most workshops.

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and discover how AI systems can use information from documents and data to provide more relevant responses. Using their résumé, participants will build a personalized AI chatbot designed to answer questions about their skills, experience, and suitability for different roles. Students will leave with a working demonstration and a practical AI tool they can use to support their job search.
Speaker Bio: Rose Boudreau is a Data Scientist with CGI’s Atlantic Business Unit, where she co-leads the AIx Applied AI Lab and serves as the architect of CGI Arc, an enterprise retrieval-augmented generation platform used by banking and regulated clients. She holds a diploma in Data Analytics from Nova Scotia Community College and is pursuing a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research focuses on adversarial interpretability in large language models and socially situated behaviour.
Rose is also the founder of Quinan Labs, an applied research company that has secured more than $150,000 in non-dilutive funding to validate AI applications across industry, government, and community settings. Her project portfolio includes recruitment automation, geospatial flood modelling for Cumberland County, and economic policy research platforms.
