Access Ability is a federally funded program that is facilitated by the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Centre at Saint Mary’s University.
Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities, the program provides self-identified persons living with disabilities help getting into the workforce or start a business, by offering various training programs and support for accommodations.

Wage Subsidy
For those living with self-identified disabilities in Atlantic Canada, who want to focus on building transferable skills for success in job hunting, we offer the Access Ability Wage Subsidy Program.
The Wage Subsidy Program is your opportunity to gain real employment experience with a $9 an hour wage subsidy.
The Access Ability Entrepreneurial Mindset Certificate (EMC) Program is a program focused on building transferable skills for success in job hunting for people that self-identify with a disability within Atlantic Canada. Eligible participants receive 8-paid training sessions through guest speakers with topics including Professional Development, Networking & Elevator Pitch, Creative Thinking, etc.
The Access Ability Business Incubator is a program for individuals who self-identify as living with a disability who have started their own business or are interested in starting their own business. To qualify they must be able to work in Canada and self-identify as having a disability and live in Nova Scotia.
Entrepreneurship Speaker Series
Access Ability Entrepreneurship Speaker Series is a program for people who self-identify as living with a disability within Nova Scotia, and who want entrepreneurial training. Program includes 18 online workshops such as Advocacy and Networking as an Entrepreneur with a Disability, Leveraging Your Personal Journey to Empower Your Business and Barriers to Breakthroughs: Personal Stories of Overcoming Challenges in Entrepreneurship.
