What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections; and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!
What’s in this session:
This session walks students through how to turn a vague idea into a real venture by:
• Identifying a real problem worth solving
• Talking to customers the right way using The Mom Test (so they don’t get polite lies)
• Using AI tools to speed up research, validation, and copy
• Getting the first paying customer in the door as quickly and cheaply as possible
Students will leave with:
• A simple framework to define and test a problem statement
• Question templates for better customer interviews (that they can use the same day)
• Example AI prompts for customer research, landing pages, and outreach
• A step-by-step mini playbook for going from “idea” → “validation” → “first paying customer”
If students have an idea, are stuck at “where do I start?”, or have been building without talking to customers, this session will help them avoid common traps. They’ll get concrete, real-world tactics I’ve used in my own ventures, tailored for student founders who want to move from theory to actual revenue.
