What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections; and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!
What’s in this session:
A 1-hour session on how to think about building AI products that work for actual humans. We'll cover the thinking behind product decisions, walk through real examples of products shipped by people with no coding background, and break down what made them feel human-centered. The goal is clarity on what's possible and what matters – not a step-by-step build.
What students will get from the session:
Specific examples of student and founder-built AI products that worked, including the 10 women who shipped apps in 4 weeks at Volta with zero coding background in my AI-Sprint Cohort. The 2-3 questions to ask yourself before building any AI feature. A clear picture of what's realistic right now. Direct Q&A on your own product idea. Why they should attend:
If you're seeing AI everywhere and not sure what to actually do with it, this hour gives you a clear answer. You'll hear real examples, see the patterns that made them work, and get a clear sense of whether building your own thing is realistic right now. You'll leave with sharper thinking – and a person to follow up with if you want to go further.
Speaker's Bio:
Jitakshi Sharma is an Anthropic Claude Ambassador for Atlantic Canada and a Founder Resident at Volta, Halifax's AI incubator. She runs a community of 100+ women founders building with AI and has led cohorts where participants shipped working apps in 4 weeks with no prior coding background. Earlier in her career, she led experiential marketing for Netflix, Meta, and YouTube. Her work focuses on what it actually takes to build AI products that put people first, the same lens she'll bring to this session.
