What is the Ignition Program:
The Ignition Program offers post-secondary students a 10-week program that gives access to training, mentorship, resources, ecosystem connections and honorariums to support personal and business development. Students will be awarded $10 for each session they engage with!

Learn how to turn your voice into your greatest asset in Strategies for Effective Public Speaking. This 1-hour session equips young entrepreneurs with essential skills to deliver impactful talks that move people to action. I’ll share practical techniques to connect with your audience, make your message resonate, and drive real change.
Drawing from my book, Speak with Impact, we'll explore:
● Building confidence to own your voice
● Using storytelling to captivate and inspire
● Delivering pitches that foster partnerships
● Simplifying complex ideas for clarity
Whether you're addressing a large audience, preparing for a TEDx talk, or speaking on the podcast, these strategies will help you make a lasting impression. You'll also learn key dos and don’ts, how to emotionally engage your audience, and how to turn ideas into opportunities and actions.
This session will empower you to inspire, lead, and deliver unforgettable messages in any setting.
Speaker's Bio:
Fatu Kaba is an award-winning peace activist, Storyteller, author, and founder of HEARTS Global Network and FatuM Creative Writing & Storytelling Consulting.
Through HEARTS Global, she focuses on empowering marginalized communities and amplifying underrepresented voices through education, entrepreneurial leadership, and storytelling to achieve United Nations SDGs 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 13, 16.
HEARTS Global’s initiatives include the “Heartfelt” podcast, which highlights the stories of marginalized communities, youth empowerment programs in the arts, capacity-building peace conferences, and programs for women and children in Africa.
As a creative visionary, her personal brand, FatuM, spans multiple mediums—Fashion Modeling writing, public speaking, and mental health activism—to inspire and uplift others. FatuM channels her creativity into writing fictional novels and blogs, using storytelling as a powerful tool for education and inspiration. Her work has been featured on platforms such as UNICEF Voices of Youth, Sleepless in Monrovia, and Manchester Peace Post.
Fatu holds a bachelor's degree in Peace Studies at Manchester University in the USA and a master's in technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Saint Mary’s University. Her work, rooted in nonviolence, youth empowerment, and women’s leadership, has earned her numerous recognitions, including the Peacemaker Award, a feature on CTV, Empowering Humanity Magazine and the honor of speaking on the TEDx stage. Now, as a former TEDx speaker, she is bringing TEDx to Halifax under the name TEDx Argyle St in 2025. She is also the organizer of the upcoming Canadian International Peace Conference 2025
