About

Ifeanyi Emesih is a serial entrepreneur, community leader, marketing expert, visionary, and innovator. Emesih is the founder & CEO of My East Coast Experience Media Group, the Founder of Creative Hub, Executive Director of the Mosaic International Film Festival of Arts & Culture and a board of directors at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. He is also, a board of directors at Discover Halifax, a Member of the advisory board at Global News and a member board of governors at Mount Saint Vincent University. Emesih chose to make Halifax his home and has since drawn on his own experiences to create a platform for others to share their immigrant stories with their own communities. This started with the forerunner of the current celebration of the “Most Inspiring Immigrants” initiative, an annual celebration recognizing the contributions of immigrants to the growth and diversity of their communities. This initiative has now grown to encompass all of Atlantic Canada.
He launched “My Halifax Experience” magazine in the winter of 2014 as a quarterly magazine to keep the contributions of immigrants front-of-mind in between the annual events. It has since become one of the leading voices of the immigrant experience in the province. To date, “My Halifax Experience” Magazine has published, printed, and distributed more than 200,000 copies of the magazine. Both the annual event and the magazine were eventually brought together via the creation of the “My East Coast Experience” media group. The creation of this digital community has given a home to related opportunities, such as a bursary program for international students facing financial difficulties, the “Mosaic Music Festival of Arts and Culture”, and the international “Mosaic Film Festival”. My East Coast Experience has given out more than $20,000 in international student bursaries to date. As part of his commitment to grooming the next generation of entrepreneurs, Mr. Emesih has held Business Leadership & Entrepreneurial Seminars teaching tertiary education students across the province, using practical instances of networking and the future of digital media. Because of his love for his community and for promoting diversity and inclusion, he partnered with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to launch a research project to discover how the local business community understands the needs of an increasingly diverse workforce, and how it is adapting to management styles as a result. The most recent addition to the My East Coast Experience family is Creative Hub, a co-working collaborative hub that brings ideas and community together. the first collaborative space of its kind in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The core goal of Creative Hub is to bring communities and ideas together in the true spirit of collaboration and innovation. Along the way, Emesih has transitioned from holding high-profile positions in marketing and brand management to achieving his own entrepreneurial goals. He is also a business coach and specializes in helping small businesses tell their own stories in the marketplace. In 2018, he was awarded the first-ever alumnae award for community service by Mount Saint Vincent University was recognized in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly for leadership in the community, and in 2020 he was hailed as a community star by Global News. In 2022, Emesih was honoured with the platinum jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II community hero award for his service to the community. His ability to manage a diverse group of employees led to an invitation from Global to sit on the advisory board for diversity and inclusion and was formally a board member of the Sackville Business Association. In 2017, He was invited to be a member of the Selection and Advisory Committee, Community Investment Grants Program by Credit Union Atlantic (CUA). On October 17, 2023 he received the ISANS Extraordinary Achievement Award for his leadership in the community.
